Operator & mission

nas4.tech is the sole operator of SkillsTyping.com and the author of every experience offered through the site. The project focuses on private, respectful typing practice without marketing, tracking, or monetization while it remains experimental.

We may adjust features or storage policies over time, and any material change will be documented here with nas4.tech and SkillsTyping clearly identified.

Data we do not collect

• No user accounts, registration details, passwords, or sign-in systems.
• No personal identifiers such as name, email address, IP, device fingerprint, location, or biometrics.
• No analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies, and no profiling or behavioral scoring.
• No integrations that harvest visitor data; everything is managed inside the browser.

Please avoid submitting personal or sensitive data into the practice fields. Volunteer feedback is reviewed privately by nas4.tech and treated as development input, not confidential correspondence.

Local data stored on your device

SkillsTyping keeps the following values inside LocalStorage, SessionStorage, and the Cache API. Clearing storage or cache removes them instantly, and nothing is sent back to a server unless you create a share card or export a backup.

• Settings & preferences – `ptp.settings`, `ptp.theme`, `skillsTyping.favoriteExercises`, and `ptp.quickStartRecent` retain your layout, keyboard choices, sounds, and favorites.
• Practice progress – `ptp.progress` keeps the most recent ~100 sessions for ghost helpers, stats, and the history UI.
• Gamification & drill history – `ptp.gamification`, `ptp.drillHistory`, and `ptp.snippetPacks` hold streaks, achievements, and imported drill packs offline.
• Consent & schema metadata – `ptp.consent`, `ptp.consentLog`, `ptp.schemaVersion`, `ptp.migration.*`, and `ptp.preRestoreSnapshot` handle consent tracking, upgrades, and backups for graceful migrations.
• Session helpers – `ptp.session`, `ptp.search.v2`, `ptp.localeOverride`, and `ptp.featureFlags` keep tab-scoped filters and snippet selections alive before the tab closes.
• Service Worker & Cache – caches only first-party assets (pages, JS, CSS, icons, audio, and `offline.html`) so the PWA loads quickly offline; no user data is cached there.

Everything listed above stays on your device unless you explicitly export it. Clearing storage or cache removes the values immediately.

Cookies & session state

• .AspNetCore.Session – essential, expires when you close the browser; keeps practice session context (difficulty, timing, currently loaded snippet) on the server for the active tab.
• ptp-theme-mode – preference cookie, 30-day expiry, SameSite=Lax; stores your chosen theme for faster first paint.
• ptp_consent – preference/consent cookie, 365-day expiry, SameSite=Lax; mirrors the local consent record so the banner can honor your prior choice.
• SkillsTyping.Admin.Auth – essential for authenticated admin access; scoped to administrator tools only and not present for regular visitors.

There are no analytics or advertising cookies. Essential cookies are required for the app to function; preference cookies apply only if you choose them.

Voluntary feedback & messaging

Any free-text feedback you submit via SkillsTyping.com is voluntary, queued in `App_Data`, and reviewed privately by nas4.tech. The feedback queue is used solely to improve the experience and is not treated as confidential storage.

Feedback may influence future releases or experiments, but you should continue to avoid sharing personal data in these notes.

EU / global compliance & your rights

This policy is designed with GDPR, ePrivacy, and similar standards in mind because SkillsTyping.com does not intentionally process personal data. If you believe we hold something about you that should be deleted, contact hello@nas4.tech and we will remove it promptly.

• Right to access: confirm any data we hold about you.
• Right to deletion: request removal of accidental submissions or exports.
• Right to object: withdraw any voluntary input subject to data minimization.

Because we do not profile or track visitors, these rights are easy to manage—just send an email and we will assist you quickly.

Development-stage disclaimer

SkillsTyping.com is an experimental, hobby project operated by nas4.tech. The service may shift rapidly, and there are no guarantees around uptime, availability, or features. We may introduce monetization, registrations, analytics, or other modules in the future; when we do, this policy will be updated.

We reserve the right to revisit the above statements and publish new versions of this policy whenever nas4.tech deems it necessary. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.
